Day 8 8th Jan 2010 In the tropics

Home again after our road trip inspired by the art but rather disappointed by the dining options in Canberra. Today's pics are of the very tropical environment created in our hotel - just like the gardens of Port Douglas and our rainforest resort we stayed at Mossman- very lush and not like the colder climate plants I can grow at home. The whole hotel was basically set up as a greenhouse as these plants would not survive the savage extremes of Canberra either. Very noice! The programme from the exhibit has a tropical feel to it too with the Gaugin painting on the cover. Now back to reality and the encroaching school year ... sigh

  1. Was it worth the trip? Do you like post-impressionism? I know a few people who are travelling to the exhibition. I remember travelling to Mossman when we lived in Cabramatta just to look at the shop which sold Italian plates, eg. Corso di Fiori.
